I thought the earth remembered me:
Elokuun viimeisenä viikonloppuna Taidekoulu Maan opiskelijat ja Pikseliähky järjestävät I thought the earth remembered me -taidetapahtuman pohtien muistia ja tallennustilaa.

Myymälä2 taiteilijat:
Aleksi Häivälä (b. 2004) is an artist based in Helsinki, currently studying contemporary art at Taidekoulu Maa as well as pursuing a craftsman's qualification in metalwork. In Häivälä’s art, folk traditions and a connection to nature intersect with the handling of hard materials. Birds, in particular, serve as a recurring point of departure through which he processes his observations and emotions into artworks. Sculpture is Häivälä’s primary form of expression, which he practices by exploring primitive techniques to create something new from the old.
Ulriika Hyry is a multidisciplinary artist who explores vulnerability, such as the fundamental uncertainty of life and the social narratives and constructions created to protect it. In their art Hyry attempts to reach out to bridge the gap between the fragility of existence and illusions of omnipotence. Hyry uses their daily life with chronic illness as a material starting point for their work. Accumulated materials, such as worn-out bedsheets, phone recorded videos of cinematic moments, frustrating bureaucracy calls and letter sequences found in the Documents folder are taking shape as video installations, performance and poetry.
Luukas Pollari is a Helsinki-based artist focused on video, photography and sound. He playfully merges fantasy with uncanny realism through an experimental approach to storytelling and worldbuilding. His practice weaves between dreamlike liminal spaces and memories, blurring the line of amusement with amazement.
Suomenlinnan taiteilijat:
Aino Kuusisto is an artist who works with a scattered mind and lost senses, their work fools around with uncomfortable feelings and bodily traumas that set them free and haunts the eye. Kuusisto’s all over the place medias can be anything that crosses their road… such as photography, painting, textile, sculpting, body and movement.
Nettles (Nooa Paukkunen) works with various disciplines such as sound, textile, photography and installation. At Pixelache they’re going to present their upcoming debut album by performing it live. The album will be released this autumn.
osma is distortion and play.
They explore non-human forms of being, bodies of natural water and all the ways to arousal.
osma is small and also a flame
Vilma Tietäväinen is an artist currently working on installation, crafting, video and performance art. The starting point of her work is often documentary material, which she might stir up with absolute nonsense. But most of the time, real life is stranger than fiction. She is inspired by found objects, trash and particularly dumpster diving. She wants to investigate the ugly and embarrassing details with a warm gaze. Improvising, going on adventures and sharing secrets (bonus if it is with strangers) make her feel stoked and very much alive.
Saara Mehtonen and Emilia Värelä are a working pair whose shared interests this summer included:
1. Wandering around Helsinki in a ghost-like manner
2. Subtle signs of unrest in common cityscape
3. People watching
Krasimir Jovanovič Hyvärinen (b. 1995) operates in the realm between association, fleeting moments, nostalgia, memories and visions. As the ability to see clear narratives remains obscured, his expression in moving image is formed by the sum of fragments rising to the surface from deep within. This same approach is present in his painting and etching as well. The working method takes shape by allowing room for improvisation, mistakes, and the influence of chance.
Konsta Thil is a Helsinki based visual artist who’s practise is rooted in analogue photography and installation. Their works explore themes of erotica and destruction through the lense of emotional exhibitionism.
Elsi Wikman is an artist whose work seamlessly blends intuitive creation with deep self-reflection. Her pieces—paintings, jewelry, photographs, and installations—invite viewers into a world where pain transforms into beauty. At the heart of her practice lies humility and presence, reflecting what words often cannot convey.
Anna Hallikainen works across painting, photography, and moving image. With a soft and personal gaze, she brings contradictions into focus. Anna is deeply drawn to themes of friendship and connection, and interested in exploring what emerges from deep engagement with the same subject and staying with the meaning.
Sara Tammi drifts around text, photography, moving image and painting. Sara often works with personal material, gathering fragments of time while rearranging their connections. Sara’s gaze highlights contrasts, soft and grainy spaces through nonlinear and ambiguous narratives. Sara’s practice is driven by the movement of distant and close, dreams and memories, reflections and in between states — letting the meaning emerge in the encounters.
Runo Mustalintu (b. 2001) is a Helsinki-based artist and ecologist whose practice explores the intricate relationships between humans and their ecological environment. They work across diverse methods and practices, from visual arts to performance. Central to their practice is a deep respect for materials—an understanding that they are not owned but borrowed. This is particularly evident in their sculptural work, where materials are gathered, temporarily transformed, and ultimately returned to their original place, where the materials remain integrated within their environments. Their works invite us to reconsider our narratives about nature and to listen more closely to the stories unfolding beyond the human perspective.
Panu Räisänen is a Helsinki based music-maker and artist. His music moves through lands between experimental and pop sounds. Working mainly with a laptop and a phone, his sound practice weaves a mix of goblinoid midi instruments, digital environments and resonant human voice.
Aamu Hautala is a queer artist from Helsinki, Finland. Currently working on video, performance and tattooing. In their work they deal with memories, intimacy, consent, bodies, ways of resistance and taking action.
Joose Eronen is a helsinki based, multidisciplinary, artist focused mainly on intense sound and video.
Weera Alexandra is an artist originally from Helsinki, who spent her childhood in Nurmijärvi. She is currently studying at Taidekoulu Maa. Weera approaches her work with steady courage, often challenging dominant power structures and societal norms. Her art explores themes such as humanity, the fluidity of existence, spirituality, and the porous boundary between the self and the environment.
Working mainly with installation, text, and media art, Weera often combines different materials and modes of expression. Her work seeks to capture the fleeting and unnoticed – the quiet connections that bind us to each other and to the landscapes we inhabit.
